VWK Project
VWK Project (Volunteers for Wadi Khaled) responded to the needs of the Wadi Khaled community involving youth in a participatory approach. The project's activities targeted the youths of 6 villages in the area. VWK was funded by the US Embassy in Beirut and was in collaboration with Akkar Network for Development (AND) to train a core group of 30 students (ages 17-22) on becoming volunteers for their community. We provided training sessions, workshops and activities on advocacy and volunteerism. In addition, the project met its broader objective of building a network of volunteers in Wadi Khaled.
